We just got home from our scrapbooking retreat and good times were had by all. Marilyn was actually a little angel the whole time (well, minus not napping enough, a few fits, and not letting mommy scrap) It was so fun to see everyone, and see the way everyone else scraps. I learned a lot just watching other people's work flow.
The highlight of the trip was definitely getting to meet Karen. We've become good hello friends over the past couple of months, and it was soooo fun hanging out.
I'm hoping that is not what this coming weekend is going to be. We are going away with a bunch of other digiscrapping gals for the weekend, and I'm really worried she's going to be on her worst behavior. I'm also afraid she'll drive everyone else nuts, after all, this is their change to get away from their kids for the weekend, the last thing they want to hear is mine.
I figure we'll probably be out and about more than in the hotel, and I won't really get any scrapping done. After all, why should things change just because we're on vacation. Any time I'm at the computer she is climbing all over me and just being a menace. Hopefully we have fun though, and I won't regret this... Wish me luck!

Today I made the mistake of leaving Marilyn unattended for five minutes while I printed out a recipe. When I came back downstairs, this is what I found.

Of course I was about to flip out at first, but then I just started laughing. Isn't this what being a kid is all about! I snapped a few pictures, and then we started vacuuming it up. That's when I realized that she was just trying to be like mom.
Yesterday she watched me pour detergent (powdered) into the dispenser. Most of the cream of wheat was around the dispenser area, and there's no doubt that the boxes are similar. She's one smart kid!

Does your mom read your blog, mine does! Isn't that just the coolest. Let's see if she'll leave me a comment...
I went shopping in the store at Oscraps yesterday and found a couple of awesome kits by Leah Riordan. The problem was I didn't have any "Marilyn" pictures to scrap. So I decided to start scanning. Here's a couple of layouts I did with Leah's stuff.

Bill and I went to dinner with some friends tonight and we started talking about what it's like to be a stay at home mom. It's something much harder than I ever imagined, that's for sure, and I don't think people that haven't done it really understand.
I do love being able to stay home with Marilyn and that I don't feel like someone else is raising my child while I'm missing stuff. I just couldn't imagine handing her over to someone else. At the same time though, I really miss working. I miss having a paycheck and I miss validation. I miss having me time, and being able to work on a project without a child pulling on my leg. Also it still isn't a profession that's "interesting". When you tell someone you're a stay at home mom, they usually don't ask too many questions about what you do. After all, isn't it sort of obvious.

I've been making a huge dent in organizing my digi supplies! I've got 82 kits organized in ACDsee now, and I already had 72 in DigitalScrapRoom. I'm loving the way ACDsee works though, and I'm glad I'm making the switch. (didn't really have a choice though lol) I guess once I finish up putting all my unorganized files into ACDsee I'll start on the files I already had organized. It kinda works using two different programs, but not really!
I've decided to make a mini album too about things that make me laugh. I often use scrapbooking as "scrap therapy", and I decided that if I only write about the hard stuff, my grandchildren will think I was one grumpy lady! Today my friend Quinn sent me an email to check out google map's directions from NY, NY to Paris, France. Check step #23, trust me, you'll be smiling about it all day!
So if you have anything that will make me laugh... stupid jokes, funny sites, etc. let me know!

(I'm really proud of the title of this one lol) Today I had the pleasure of attending a birthday party for a friend's 6 year old son. There's nothing quite like the chaos of a bunch of little boys running around to make you want your child to stay young forever. She really is a peaceful child, even when she's running around the house. I suppose someday she'll be running around with a gaggle of other girls, but I am sooo not ready for that to happen.
On another note, her hair is finally long enough to put in piggy tails. You know, the cute little baby ones that stick straight up. They are not in proportion with the size of her head, but they are super cute anyway. I'll be posting a picture when I think to take one :)

This weekend we're at Nana and Grandpa's house again, and I did a bunch of treasure hunting in the basement yesterday. I found lots of old pictures of mine, and I found all my sister's old pictures. She thought they were gone for good, so I'm excited to tell her the good news. My dad also just received a few pictures from his aunt. It doesn't get any better than finding a picture like this!He is my Dad's Mom's Dad's Dad's Dad, I think :)

did my 18 month old daughter manage to open up 36 firefox windows, in design, and outlook. Has she suddenly realized how to to use the start menu? I don't know if it's all the buttons or that she just loves to hear the sounds and watch things on the screen, but she just loves the computer. For the most part I let her play until she doesn't want to play anymore. Of course, this can lead to many strange things happening...
This is day three of me trying to be a morning person, and it's just not going well this morning. For some reason I just can't wake up. I set the alarm for 6:30, hit the snooze button a couple of times, then came to my desk and fell asleep in my chair for an hour. The past couple of days have actually been really productive and I've been rather energetic, today is just a different story--now I see why I'm not a morning person.

Ie orki on some iae psappig an ogaiig .
That's what you type when the batteries in your keyboard die by the way :)
Anyway, I've been working on organizing my heritage pictures lately, and one thing I've thought was pretty cool, is when the address is written on the back of a picture of a home. I looked up a couple of pictures in google maps, and now I know where my grandpa grew up. There was also a picture of a "Grandpa Taylor's house" I don't know who Grandpa Taylor might be (no Taylor's in my family), but I'm sure I'll be able to get some information on the property.
I'm also thinking about writing a letter to the people who live in these homes, to see if they'll send me some more pictures. Wouldn't that be fun!
So a challenge for today is to scrap a picture of your home and include the address. Also, if you have any printed pictures of homes you lived in, go ahead and write the addresses on the back, your grand children will be glad you did.
For the past little while I've been wondering if I should try a different schedule on for size. I've been going to bed around midnight and waking up at 8ish. Last night I went to bed at 10 and woke up at 6. I've been up for a couple of hours now, and I'm afraid I'm getting tired. Also, it doesn't seem my scrapping mojo is up this early either, but I feel like doing housework, so maybe this is a good thing... It'll be interesting to see how the rest of my day goes.
I made a layout this weekend, featuring a picture I thought was incredible. Problem is, the subject of the photo hates the picture. I know I shouldn't be one to complain as I hate 99% of my pictures of myself, but I'm still bumbed. I guess we are all our worst critics, especially when it comes to how we look. Maybe in the future I'll keep picture like this to myself.
